Merchandising and retail execution
for field teams.
Know what is actually happening at the point of sale. Shelf, planogram, stock, price and promo, captured by your team on the spot and visible the same day.
Sellion Merchandising is the module your field team uses to record what is happening on the shelf: what is listed, what is missing, at what price, and whether the agreed promotional setup is actually in place. It runs on the same visit, the same customer data and the same ERP connection as order taking, so a single stop can cover both.
What this module does today, stated plainly
Image recognition does not exist in this module today. No formulation on this page should imply automated analysis of a photograph - the value here is a different, and truer, one.
| Don't write | Write |
|---|---|
| AI recognizes shelf state from photos | Photos are captured on the spot and tied to outlet, time, user and position |
| Automated planogram audit | The rep records shelf state against the agreed planogram |
| Image recognition detects out of stock | Missing items are recorded at the shelf and visible centrally the same day |
| AI-powered shelf analytics | Structured shelf data, reported centrally |
This is not a weakness to write around. A photo carrying time, location and user is evidence that stands up in a conversation with a brand partner. Automated recognition without human confirmation is not - and unlike the AI claim, this one is true.
What it does
Field team records shelf state against the agreed planogram, per outlet and per category.
Before and after photos, tied to outlet, date, user and GPS position.
Missing SKUs recorded at the shelf, visible centrally the same day.
Facings recorded per brand and per category, so you can see position against competition.
Shelf price recorded per SKU, including competitor price where the visit allows.
Whether the agreed promotional material is actually in place, with photo evidence.
Configurable question sets per visit type, per channel or per campaign.
Planned versus executed visits, duration, GPS position and sequence.
Full capture without connectivity, automatic sync when the device reconnects.
Results per outlet, per rep, per region and per period.
Why this matters
Your order data tells you what the customer bought. Merchandising tells you what actually reached the shelf, in what position, and at what price. Without the second half, the first half is an incomplete picture.
A photo carrying time, location and user is evidence. A report written from memory at the end of the day is not. The difference shows up the moment a brand partner asks you to prove campaign execution.
Data that arrives a month later is history, not an operational input. Anything you could still have fixed is already past fixing.
How it fits
The same visit in the Sellion field sales app can carry both an order and a merchandising task. Standalone merchandising tools sit outside the ordering flow, which means two apps, two visits or two logins. Here it is one visit, one customer record, one ERP connection.
Field sales app→Who uses it
Carries out the task on site, often without signal.
Sees execution by route and by person the same day.
Enters a negotiation with evidence, not an impression.
Needs proof of campaign execution across an agreed number of outlets.
A campaign across three hundred outlets
Day one: the task and a short questionnaire are configured centrally for the campaign, tied to the SKUs and the promotional material the brand agreed to. It goes out to every rep whose route touches the three hundred target outlets.
Day two: each rep executes the task on the visit, alongside their normal order-taking stop. Shelf and planogram state, price, and promo material are recorded with a time-stamped photo. Outlets without connectivity capture the same data offline; it syncs the next time the device reconnects.
Day three: a central report shows execution by region and by outlet, drawn straight from the photos and shelf data captured on the visit, not from a rep's end-of-day recollection. That report is what goes to the brand.
